Subaru has confirmed that the Australian versions will be based on the Japanese market vehicles, meaning this is our first glimpse of what we should come to expect in September when the local models arrive.

The Subaru Liberty will continue to be offered in both sedan and wagon variants alongside the Outback, coupled with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as expected.

Safety has been enhanced with the addition of knee airbags, with Subaru confident both cars will achieve strong five-star occupant safety ratings when tested locally by the independent Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).

Rain sensing windscreen wipers and auto on/off headlights have also been included along with push button start options and a reversing camera with factory-fitted SatNav options.
